We present this beautiful project in which a classic sailing boat has been re-engined to carry out expeditions for scientific purposes. The Best Explorer is a boat built in Italy in 1984 and for 20 years has travelled around most of the world. It has sailed in the Pacific, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Asian waters, Russia and Siberia.
It is currently sailing in the Arctic. Due to the demanding use and performance of this application, the boat's owner opted for the SM-103 model from the range, which is characterised by its versatility and durability. It is a very reliable engine and fully recommended for continuous service. In addition, it has a large number of optional possibilities to customise it according to the needs of use. In this case, the engine incorporates a ground isolated installation kit, a dual panel kit and a second alternator kit that allows alternative power to be extracted to generate DC current. In addition, the boat is RINA classified.
